Located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Snohomish County, Washington, the Granite Falls School District serves nearly 2,000 students in grades K-12. Approximately 220 teachers, administrators, and support staff members assist students in developing life-long learning skills.

Mike Sullivan, Director of Business and Operations for Granite Falls School District, says the district began talking with Frontier Communications before its existing 15-year-old, 250-unit phone system was approaching obsolescence.  The district wanted to replace it with a state-of-the-art Mitel system that would have an HTML interface, include the functionality to receive RSS feeds, and could send out emergency text and audible alerts to all personnel in case of a lockdown situation.
