It was a sweet Tuesday morning for TV news and sports programs in Los Angeles as Frontier Communications delivered a surprise: oversize football-shaped cakes to celebrate the announced launch of Pac-12 Networks for Southern California FiOS® TV subscribers. Thanks to the coordinated effort of the West Region marketing and PR team, the sugary stunt made a delicious splash and sailed through the uprights to create sweet news for Frontier customers.
It was clearly a big hit with JoJo Wright, entertainment reporter for the KTLA Morning News, the most-watched morning news program in the Los Angeles TV market. Wright posed for photos, then told the audience about Frontier’s Pac-12 Networks launch. You can view the clip here: Frontier Kicks off Pac-12 Networks
Fifteen major news outlets in Southern California received Frontier kick off cakes, including CBS, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, the L.A. Times, radio stations, blogs and other newspapers. The escapade not only marks the beginning of
Pac-12 Networks programming FiOS TV, it also marks the start of college football season. The cakes were created by local bakery Cakes and Art and hand-delivered by the bakery’s own budding actress, Sky.
