Frontier Vice President and General Manager of Washington Vicky Oxley sat down with Todd Bishop, GeekWire co-founder and host of KIRO FM’s Geekwire Show, to chat about Frontier’s recent $214 Million investment in improvements to Frontier’s fiber-to-the-home internet service.
According to Oxley, 2FAST Symmetrical Uploads and downloads have been in the works for a while, “Customers actually have been asking for faster uploads for a long, long time,” said Oxley. “We’ve been listening to them and we made a huge investment in our network: over $214 million in the last several years just so we could bring about this advanced service.”
Oxley and Bishop went on to touch upon some of the reasons why Frontier’s network is able to deliver services that cable’s infrastructure can’t match. According to Oxley, “Cable just doesn’t have this architecture. [Frontier’s] plant is, actually, 100% fiber optics, and so it allows for these types of services.”
Oxley also highlighted the new 2FAST internet speeds, including entry-level service that is now, “Six times greater.”
And Oxley noted Frontier’s straight forward pricing, which unlike cable, doesn’t have hidden modem rental fees.
