Recognizing Our Veterans All Year Long

November marks the 95th annual recognition of Veterans Day. At Frontier, we are honored to recognize and celebrate our nation’s veterans – not just this month, but all year long.

Frontier’s national commitment to recognize the contributions of U.S. military veterans includes support for the Honor and Remember flag program. Honor and Remember is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of establishing and promoting a nationally recognized flag symbolizing gratitude and respect for those who make the ultimate sacrifice in military service. In partnership with Honor and Remember, we have the pleasure of regularly honoring and memorializing these men and women by presenting personalized flags to the families of fallen soldiers across the U.S.

This month, we are especially excited to join forces with our customers and our community on social media to celebrate the brave men and women who have gone above and beyond for our country. We are inviting anyone who wants to recognize or honor a veteran in their life to share a Story of Service with us on Facebook. For every story submitted, we will make a $5 donation to the Armed Forces Foundation, up to $5,000. The Armed Forces Foundation is a non-profit organization utilizing direct assistance programs, awareness and advocacy campaigns to honor our military population for its service, improve military-to-civilian reintegration efforts, and preserve our fighting forces for the future. Click here to share your own story now through November 30, 2014.

Also this month, Portland-area schoolchildren will see a few new faces in their schools as Butternut Creek Elementary school participates in Take a Veteran to School Day. In conjunction with Take a Veteran to School Day, presented by Frontier, in partnership with The History® Channel and A&E, students in grades K through 6 will have the opportunity to honor local veterans during the school’s annual Patriotism Month.

A national initiative to link veterans with students nationwide, Take a Veteran to School Day is designed to help children learn more about the history of Veterans Day. The program connects generations and helps young people learn about the past through the voices and experiences of veterans from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Frontier’s support of these programs is an integral part of our national commitment to recognize the contributions of U.S. military veterans. In fact, our 100 percent U.S.-based workforce includes many U.S.-based veterans and reservists, comprising 13 percent of total employees.

On behalf of the entire Frontier team, our most sincere thanks and gratitude to all who have served our nation.
