Red, White and Boom: The Tech Behind Fireworks

Horizontal composition color photography at night of beautiful large and colorful fireworks display with awe pyrotechnic effects at edge of the water with some abstract reflections in water wave and with unrecognizable crowd of people silhouette watching, during celebration event like new year or national day. The original picture was taken during the Bastille Day in France, 14th of July, along Rhone river in Isere department in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region in Europe in Montalieu-Vercieu city.

It’s our most explosive episode yet! With Independence Day nearly upon us, we’re taking you behind the curtain of firework technology, so you can appreciate the inner workings as well as the spectacle in the sky.

And to help us understand the rocket’s red glare, we have a very special guest: Phil Grucci, CEO and Creative Director of Fireworks by Grucci – holder of the Guinness World Records for Largest Fireworks Display and Largest Pyrotechnic Image. Founded in 1850, his company has lit up eight US Presidential Inaugurations, Olympic Games, World’s Fairs and much more all over the globe.
